Hi, my name is Laura Ward and I will be leading the Wednesday night rides this year for the new cyclists or cyclists returning after a period of not riding and just want to dust off the bike and get back into cycling. We will be riding at an 8 to 10 mph pace. This is a no drop ride around Lake Overholser which is approximately 8.2 miles.
Here’s a little background about me. After sustaining several stress fractures from running last year, I was advised to get a bike and start riding as an alternative to running. It had been 20 years since I had been on a bicycle and was very hesitant about attempting to ride again. I bought my first road bike and started riding with friends a few times a week. Before I knew it, I fell in love with cycling and began training for Spin Your Wheels and the MS 150.
I am looking forward to meeting and riding with everyone this year. See you in April!
