The original plan to have Spring Fling at Roman Nose State Park did not pan out . A key road is closed for resurfacing and there is not a decent restaurant open on Sunday morning within riding distance. Sooo we are going to plan B which is Lake Arbuckle. We have not been there in a while and we all love their nice hilly--oops--scenic routes.
We will be camping at the Buckhorn area which is on the east side of Lake Arbuckle south of Sulphur off Hwy 177. As usual this is a no fee no tee ride. This means no t-shirt to buy, no water stops, and no sag. While we all know we are riding at our own risk, one need not worry as we always manage to take care of everyone. Again we will have a ride Saturday morning, a potluck dinner Saturday night, and a breakfast ride Sunday morning. The ride Saturday morning will be 51.1 miles long with options for shorter and longer distances available. Davis is the planned lunch stop. For those adventurous souls wanting a bit more pain there will be an option to climb the Arbuckle mountains.
