Red Rock State Park is an ecological surprise nestled in a snug canyon, completely enclosed by a sheer fortress wall of red sandstone. It is a relatively easy 45-mile ride from Oklahoma City along historic US Route 66 to the park. The return is a bit more difficult because riders now have to climb those three monster hills that were such a thrill to coast down. The true test for a bicyclist is the ride up the hill out of the park. Traveling south, one can stop off at Fort Cobb State Park, then swing through Anadarko and see the American Indian Hall of Fame and nearby Indian City U.S.A.. These loops cover over 100 miles of western countryside.
